An India Young Professionals Scheme visa enables Indian citizens who
are aged between 18 to 30 to live and work in the UK.
What Are the Key Eligibility Requirements for a India Young
Professionals Scheme Visa?
In order to successfully apply for an India Young Professionals
Scheme visa, applicants must meet the following key requirements:
- Must be an Indian citizen aged between 18 to 30;

Must have £2,530 in savings to support themselves in the UK;

Must not have any children who are under the age of 18 who live
with them and are financially dependant on them;

Must not have used this scheme before or have been in the UK under
the Youth Mobility Scheme;

Must enter a ballot to apply for a visa for the India Young
Professionals Scheme;

If successful in the ballot they need to apply for their visa by
the deadline given in their invitation to apply. This is usually
30 days after they get the invitation;

Must have a police report or clearance certificate from India; and
-
Must have a qualification at UK bachelor’s degree level or above
(Regulated Qualifications Framework level 6, 7 or 8) or an
equivalent overseas qualification at degree level or above; and
-
May need to provide a tuberculosis (TB) certificate depending on
which country the applicant resides in.
How Long is a India Young Professionals Scheme Visa Valid for?
An India Young Professionals Scheme visa is granted for up to 2
years.
Can a India Young Professionals Scheme Visa be Extended?
Unfortunately, this visa cannot be extended.
Can Dependants Join or Accompany India Young Professionals Scheme
Visa Holders?
Unfortunately, dependants cannot join or accompany an India Young
Professionals Scheme visa holder.
How Long Does it Take For a Decision to be Made?
The Home Office will usually process an India Young Professionals
Scheme visa application within 3 weeks.
How Much Does it Cost?
The Home Office fee is £259.
Applicants will also have to pay the Immigration Health Surcharge,
which is usually £470 per year.
