A Graduate visa enables international students who have successfully completed a course in the UK to work or look for work after their studies for a period of time.
In order to successfully apply for a Graduate visa, applicants must meet the following key requirements:
A Graduate visa is usually granted for 2 years. Applicants who have a PHD or other doctoral qualification are granted a 3 year visa. This visa cannot be extended and does not lead to settlement, however applicants wanting to stay in the UK for longer, may be able to switch to a different visa i.e., a Skilled Worker visa.
The partner and children of applicants who joined them on their Student visa are eligible to apply.
The Home Office usually process a Graduate visa application within 8 weeks.
If eligible, applicants will be advised whether they can apply to get a decision faster. The Home Office charge additional fees for these priority services.
The Home Office fee is £715.
Applicants will also have to pay the immigration health surcharge, which is usually £624 per year.
